The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) called for “an end to the unlawful killing” of Palestinians who are subjected to siege and intensified attacks by the Israeli occupation.
“Israeli forces continue to escalate operations in the West Bank, reportedly killing at least nine Palestinians,” OHCHR said on X.
“Early in the morning, Israeli forces killed five Palestinian men in an airstrike on a vehicle near the Balata refugee camp in Nablus,” it added.
“In a separate airstrike, Israeli forces reportedly killed at least four other Palestinians, three of them children, during a raid in the Tulkarem refugee camp.”
According to initial information, both cases raise concerns of unlawful killing, and Israel must ensure prompt, independent, and effective investigation.”
The OHCHR concluded by saying, “unlawful killings of Palestinians must end.”
Since the outbreak of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip Oct. 7, Israeli occupation forces have intensified military operations in the West Bank, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands of detainees.
Since then, several areas in the West Bank and Jerusalem have witnessed large-scale raid and arrest campaigns almost on a daily basis accompanied by settler attacks.
Israeli occupation forces launched a bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip, causing a severe humanitarian and health catastrophe.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and West Bank constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires an immediate international intervention.
