On Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, two Palestinian citizens were killed when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at them in Jenin refugee camp, north of the West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victims as Jawad Bawaqna, a 57-year-old school teacher, and Adham Jabbarin, a 28-year-old young man.
A large number of Israeli troops stormed Jenin camp early today and spread in its streets and rooftops of homes and buildings amid heavy gunfire.
The Israeli occupation army regularly conducts raids, search and arrest operations in Palestinian towns across the occupied West Bank, which have intensified this year with Palestinians arrested on a near-daily basis.
The killing of the two men brings the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army in the West Bank in the 19 days since 2023 began to 17, including four children. Nine of them were from Jenin.
