Footage widely shared on social media platforms showed an Israeli soldier violently assaulting a Palestinian girl after her arrest.
The detained girl appeared to be astonished and shocked while being subjected to violent attacks and insults.
The Israeli soldier was identified by Israeli media sources as Orian Ben Khalifa who was filmed while slapping and severely beating the girl, accusing her of allegedly participating in stone-throwing attacks.
The Israeli soldier also took off the girl’s headscarf against her will.
According to Israeli sources, the footage dates back to more than a month ago.
33 Palestinian female prisoners are currently held in the Israeli occupation prisons, facing harsh detention conditions.
Last year, 178 Palestinian women and girls were detained by Israel from different parts of the occupied territories.
