Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) is organising a webinar on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 5 PM (London Time), titled “Israel’s Assault on Lebanon: All-Out War on the Horizon if the International Community Stays Silent.”
AOHR UK invites everyone to join this crucial discussion, which will address the expansion of genocide by Israeli occupation forces from Gaza into Lebanon, a clear violation of international law and a dangerous step towards all-out war in the region.
While some countries advocate for a ceasefire, the United States continues to obstruct these efforts, refusing to hold Israel accountable for its actions. The discussion will focus on the following key areas:
- Genocide and War Crimes: A detailed examination of Israel’s systematic violations of international humanitarian law, expanding from Gaza into Lebanon.
- Legal Accountability and International Law: The failure of the international community to enforce legal consequences for Israeli war crimes, and the growing disregard for the Geneva Conventions.
- Western Complicity and Arms Trade: How military and diplomatic support from Western alliances, particularly arms sales, embolden Israel’s crimes and prolong the suffering of Palestinian and Lebanese civilians.
- Escalation Toward All-Out War: Israel’s unchecked actions are crossing all red lines, pushing the region into a full-scale war, exacerbated by the unwavering backing from certain Western powers.
This event will feature distinguished legal and human rights experts who will provide comprehensive insights into the legal and moral obligations to address these violations, while calling for international action.
