The World Central Kitchen announced on Thursday the killing of one of its Palestinian staff members in the Gaza Strip, identified as Nadi Sallout, near Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.
The US-based NGO said on X platform: “One of our Palestinian colleagues, Nadi Sallout, was killed tonight near Deir al-Balah in Gaza.”
“He was an integral member of our warehouse team from the early days of our response in Rafah and a humanitarian at his very core,” the post reads.
The relief organization expressed its sympathy and solidarity with Nadi’s family and the rest of its team around the world, adding: “we mourn this tremendous loss.”
This announcement comes four months after the killing of seven employees of the World Central Kitchen of American, Australian, British and Polish origin, in an Israeli air raid that targeted the organization’s relief vehicles on Rashid Street in Deir al-Balah on April 1, sparking a wave of widespread condemnation.
Dozens of relief workers have been killed since the beginning of the devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, including UNRWA workers.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation has been waging a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip with American support, leaving tens of thousands of civilians dead, most of whom are children and women, and massive destruction of the infrastructure.
