15 Palestinian prisoners, currently held in Israeli occupation prisons, suffer from cancer of various types.
However, the Israeli prison service (IPS) does not provide them with adequate treatment for their health condition and gives them only painkillers, which herald a real danger to their lives.
Right sources confirmed that Palestinian prisoners with cancer are at risk of losing their lives due to their difficult health and detention conditions and their lack of proper treatment.
The IPS often refuse to release prisoners with cancer, except if the prisoner has reached a very critical health condition.
Cancer is the main reasons for prisoners’ death in Israeli custody, where they were subjected to deliberate medical negligence.
550 Palestinian Prisoners Suffer Different Health Problems
More than 550 Palestinian prisoners suffering from different health problems are currently held in Israeli jails.
Dozens of them are in very critical condition, suffering from serious diseases including heart and kidney failure, paralysis and cancer.
A number of sick prisoners have already lost the ability to speak or to move.
However, many of them did not conduct any medical tests or receive any treatment.
A total of 226 Palestinians died in Israeli custody since 1967. This includes 71 prisoners died as a result of deliberate medical negligence.
