A young Palestinian has been shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces in the central West Bank.
According to a statement by Palestinian Ministry of Health, Nuhad Amin al-Barghouti was shot by Israeli occupation forces in the village of Nabi Salih, northwest of Ramallah.
Al-Barghouti, from the nearby village of Kafr Ain, was hit in the chest by a live round and taken for treatment to Istishari hospital in Ramallah, before his death was announced.
Al-Barghouti had previously been imprisoned for two years by the Israeli occupation. He was 17 years-old at the time of his arrest.
Witnesses report that the village of Nabi Salih has seen continuous incursions by occupation forces and settlers, which have included raids, searches, and vandalism.
The nearby Halamish settlement was established on lands attached to the villages of Nabi Saleh and Deir Nidham, and sits between the villages of Kobar, Beitillu, Umm Safa, and Kafr Ain.
The occupied West Bank is seeing rising tension following the assassination of three Palestinians by Israeli intelligence forces in Nablus last Tuesday, and the increased frequency of settler attacks against Palestinian villages across the territory, and in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of occupied East Jerusalem, or al-Quds as it is known in Arabic.
