Two months after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank, a young Palestinian has died.
According to the Palestinian health ministry, Yussef Nawaf Muharab died today Monday (26 July) in the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah as a result of being shot by occupation forces on 14 May in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah.
In a statement, the ministry said that the young man “was injured in the fifth and seventh vertebrae and admitted to hospital in critical condition, and underwent treatment until his death this morning.”
This April, the situation in Palestine exploded after “brutal” attacks by the occupation forces and Israeli settlers in the West Bank (including East Jerusalem, or al-Quds as it is known in Arabic) and the Arab cities occupied in 1948. The attack resulted in dozens of deaths, and thousands of injuries and arrests for Palestinians.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) has repeatedly called on the international community to restrain the Israeli forces from using lethal or otherwise excessive force against Palestinians, since there is no indication that forces will alter their policies, or abide by their obligations under international law, without such pressure.
AOHR UK again underlines that the delaying of justice for Palestinians – the continued lack of seriousness of measures taken against the occupying state – encourages Israel to commit still more crimes and violations, to the great cost of the Palestinian people.
