Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK has condemned the ongoing violence committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people. The recent deaths of 15 people, including 4 children and 4 women, in Israeli airstrikes are adding to a string of daily crimes committed against Palestinians throughout the occupied territories.
The Israeli occupation forces, with the explicit decisions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, have been targeting the basic rights of Palestinians, particularly the right to life, since the beginning of the year. At least 130 people, including 25 children, who have been killed by the occupation forces this year alone.
In yet another instance of Israeli occupation forces’ aggressive policies against Palestinians, two young men were tragically killed and several others injured in a recent invasion of Balata refugee camp east of Nablus. Saad Jihad Shaker Mashah and Adnan Wasim Youssef Al-Araj were killed due to being shot in the head with live ammunition. Three individuals were also shot with live bullets, with one woman in critical condition after being hit by four bullets. Additionally, 75 individuals suffered from tear gas suffocation.
Red Crescent ambulance crews were prevented from entering the camp, and photojournalist Jamal Ryan reported that the two young men killed were standing innocently in front of him when they were shot by an Israeli sniper. The invasion also resulted in heavy shooting and clashes, with special forces surrounding a family’s house and attacking it with several “energia” shells.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of Palestinian casualties in the West Bank and Gaza Strip has risen to 150, highlighting the need for international humanitarian law to protect civilians and ensure their well-being, protection, and humane treatment.
