In a new Israeli crime against Palestinians, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian teen after breaking into Nablus City, in the northern West Bank.
Medical sources at Rafidia Hospital reported that the 17-year-old student Yazan Shtayyeh was killed after being shot in the chest by Israeli gunfire. Another young man was seriously injured in the chest, abdomen, and foot while a third was injured in the foot.
Israeli special forces infiltrated into the Al-Marij neighbourhood and raided a building belonging to the Judallah family. Military reinforcements were later sent to the area.
The occupation forces stormed the residential building, raided one of its flats, and arrested the young man, Jaafar Baara, after brutally attacking him.
Given that the right to life is a fundamental right protected by both international human rights law and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this horrifying incident clearly violates that right, making it a serious and blatant violation of human rights.
Israeli occupation forces are conducting daily raids and incursions into towns and villages throughout the West Bank, including Jerusalem. These incursions are accompanied by Palestinians being shot, arrested, and targeted with tear gas bombs, in addition to frequent settler attacks.
With the death of the young Shtayyeh in Nablus, there have been 465 deaths and over 4,800 injuries in the West Bank since October 7.
