A Palestinian doctor was killed and two others were injured on Saturday morning when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at citizens during a raid in Qabatiya town, south of Jenin, West Bank.
Director of Al-Razi Hospital in Jenin Fawwaz Hammad said that doctor Shamekh Abu al-Rub, 25, was shot dead, while his brother, Mohamed, and another young man were wounded during clashes between local youths and Israeli soldiers in Qabatiya.
Abu al-Rub was hit by a live bullet in his abdomen as he and his brother was leaving their homes during the events.
The doctor’s brother and another young man in the same street were also injured by IOF gunfire.
The slain doctor is the son of the acting governor of Jenin.
In the early morning hours, Israeli undercover soldiers infiltrated into the town and encircled a house near the Qabatiya girl school.
The IOF also kidnaped a young man identified as Tareq Abu al-Rub after raiding his home in the town.
These violations require immediate action by the international community to hold the Israeli perpetrators accountable and bring them to justice.
