The Jordanian prisoner of conscience, Ayman Al-Fanatsa, continues his open hunger strike for the 7th consecutive day in Al-Muwaqqar2 prison.
His family stated that he is very exhausted due to low sugar, and that he refuses to end the strike until his release.
Fanatasa suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. His family is worried about his life if his strike continued for a long time. The family has requested his release on bail, but they did not receive any response from the State Security Court until now.
The prosecutor of the Military State Security Court charged Al-Fanatasa with undermining the political system of government and inciting opposition, carrying out terrorist acts, illegal assembly and obstruction of the provision of public services that threaten national security or public safety, all of which Al-Fanatsa has denied.
The Jordanian authorities had arrested Al-Fanatsa on January 7, 2023 while leaving the office of the Al-Sharari clan in Maan Governorate, where preparations for an upcoming peaceful protest over the rising prices of fuel were taking place.
