The PA’s Preventive Security Service continues to detain the three brothers, Ayman, Ahmed and Amin Darwish, for the third day in a row.
The PA have arrested a number of university students in the West Bank, most notably the head of the student council at Birzeit University, Abdel Majeed Hassan, the former head of the council, Omar Kiswani, member of the students Union, Yahya Farah, despite a judicial decision to release them. It also arrested a student at Al-Quds University, Rafik Al-Qubbaj, who suffers from a cardinal disease.
The PA continues its violations and political arrests against released activists and prisoners, the oldest of whom is Musaab Shatayyeh for the 276th day in a row, despite the issuance of judicial decisions to release him.
The PA must abide by international human rights standards, respect court decisions, and release the detainees. It must also provide the necessary protection for them, ensure the detention conditions are good and humane, and bring those responsible for these violations to justice.
The international community and human rights organisations are called to monitor the violations Palestinians are subjected to at the hands of the PA, which must be pressured to comply with the law and respect human rights.
