On Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, a Palestinian young man was killed by Israeli gunfire at the Deheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem in the West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the victim as Omar Manna Fararja was killed after being shot in the chest by the invading IOF troops.
Six other youths were wounded by live fire and taken to hospital for treatment, the ministry added, noting that one of the injured is in critical condition.
Four youths were also detained during the military raid, including Omar Manna Fararja’s brother, Yazan Manna, Shihab Mazhar, and the two brothers Moath and Uday Abu Nassar.
Since the start of the year, 160 Palestinians were killed by the IOF gunfire in the occupied West Bank and 52 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.
It is worth mentioning that international humanitarian law prohibits attacks against civilians and the use of certain weapons. It also ensures the protection of non-combatants; Red Cross/Red Crescent and medical personnel; and prisoners of war.
