Palestinian prisoner Daoud al-Zubaidi, from Jenin refugee camp, has died today, Sunday 15 May, as a result of wounds he sustained after he was shot by Israeli occupation forces two days ago.
Yesterday, Israeli occupation authorities informed Al-Zubaidi’s family that was in their custody and in a critical condition.
Occupation army forces shot Al-Zubaidi in the stomach during an operation carried out in Jenin refugee camp on Friday 13th.
Daoud is the brother of current prisoner Zakaria Al-Zubaidi. Their mother, Samira, and their brother, Taha, were both killed during occupation forces’ invasion of the same refugee camp in April 2002.
Daoud had been arrested multiple times, as have all of his siblings. He had spent a total of 12 years in occupation prisons under both regular sentences and via ‘administrative detention’, or detention without trial. He was married and the father of three children.
With Al-Zubaidi’s death, the number of Palestinian prisoners to have been killed rose to 228.
