The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in the occupied West Bank continue to arrest university students and political activists over their political affiliation.
The PA forces arrested the ex-prisoner Kamal Al-Baz after raiding his family house, and the activist Salem Qatash after being summoned for an investigation.
An-Najah University student, Amir Shalhoub, is continued to be held in PA prisons for the fourth consecutive day over his political activism, amid reports of being subjected to torture.
An-Najah University student, Salim Salatneh, is also detained for the fifth consecutive day over his political activism.
PA forces also continue to arrest the ex-prisoner Ahmed Karaja, Adham Merhi and Muhammad Makhzoumi for more than a week ago, and the young man Asaad Al-Masry for 24 days.
PA intelligence service is holding the youn man Muhammad Ghayzan for the 18th day in a row, the ex-prisoner Mahdi Barghouti for 25 days, and Muhammad Nour Azzam for the 34th day, the ex-prisoner Abdullah Noureddine Abu Zmiro for the 60th consecutive day in Jericho Prison.
The political prisoners Saleh and Ahmad Faraj are also held in Jericho prison for the 74th consecutive day, while the young Basel Yasser Hanaysha for the 110th consecutive day, and Muhammad Al-Azmi for the 142nd consecutive day.
Human rights groups have accused the Palestinian security forces, which receive international funding, of routinely arresting and torturing peaceful critics and opponents to crush dissent.
