The suffering of Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip continues during the ongoing 80-day genocidal war waged by the Israeli occupation, in which over 6,000 women were killed.
UN Women revealed on X post that two mothers are killed every hour in the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.
“Children are losing their only safety line—their parents. This needs to stop”, UN Women posted.
In the same vein, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that it is struggling to provide care for at least 50,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip amid the ongoing Israeli attacks.
The UN agency estimated that there are over 50,000 pregnant women in the Gaza Strip, with over 180 giving birth every day.
“Doctors and midwives are doing everything possible to provide care for post-natal and high-risk pregnant women at 7 out of 22 operational UNRWA health centers”, it added.
Since October 7, the Israeli occupation forces have been waging a devastating war on Gaza. As of Sunday, 20,424 Palestinians were killed, while 54,36 were wounded, mostly children and women. Massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe were also left.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian and human rights law as it exposes civilians’ lives to extreme danger, which requires immediate international intervention.
