Since 1948 the Palestinian people have been struggling to protect their lands, homes and possessions from the Israeli occupation. This struggle is getting even more complicated for the new generation living under occupation, who face increasing levels of injustice under an Israeli legal system operating to the benefit of Israeli settlers at the expense of the Palestinian people.
This systematic injustice is starkly illustrated in the case of the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem, where the Palestinians are under threat of eviction from their homes, with Israeli settlers poised to claim them as their own.
Recently, the story of Sheikh Jarrah has been widely spread by the Palestinians in an attempt to show their persistence in protecting their rights and freedoms in spite of the unjust Israeli legal system that rules them – and to prevent another Nakba from occurring.
Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK is proud to have joined the Palestinian campaign to fight for human rights and freedoms, and so invites you to attend an online seminar to take a deeper look into the case of the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.
We will be joined by a host of legal and political experts who will discuss the local and international dimensions of this situation and suggest ways in which we can fight to demand and defend human rights in this context.
