On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) assassinated three Palestinian young men after opening fire at a car they were aboard in Nablus City, north of the West Bank.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli forces have killed three Palestinians in Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
“Three citizens were martyred as a result of direct shooting by Israeli forces in the city of Nablus,” the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
It identified the victims as Ashraf Mubaslat, Adham Mabrouka and Mohammad Dakhil.
Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli undercover soldiers aboard a civilian vehicle stormed Nablus City and opened fire directly and intensively at a Palestinian car, killing three young passengers.
The martyrs were laid to rest amid large participation of Palestinian citizens.
On Wednesday, a general strike was declared in Nablus following the Israeli assassination operation.
The Palestinian government has called for an international investigation into the killings, describing it as a “heinous crime”.
“The silence of the international community to Israeli violations and crimes provides a cover to these criminal acts and encourages the Israeli occupier to continue in its open warfare against the Palestinians,” it said in a statement.
Palestinian and international rights groups have long condemned what they see as a policy of shoot to kill and excessive use of force.
