More than 500 Israeli settlers stormed Al -Aqsa Mosque courtyards today, Sunday, to celebrate the Shavuot, while Muslim worshipers were denied entry.
According to The Islamic Endowment Department in Jerusalem, 528 settlers stormed the courtyards in the morning under the protection of the occupation police, entering from the Mughrabi Gate, which has been controlled by the IOF since the occupation of eastern Jerusalem in 1967.
The IOF closed the tribal chapel doors with iron chains and surrounded worshipers inside.
The Temple groups have called on settlers to storm the Al -Aqsa Mosque during their feast, which takes place on Sunday and Monday.
Thousands of settlers gather yearly on the morning of the Shavuot at the Al -Buraq Wall and recite Torah very loudly in the provocation of the Palestinians.
During the Jewish holidays, Palestinians living in occupied Jerusalem witnessed restrictions by the occupation police, closure of the city’s streets, towns and entrances, placing military barriers, inspections and restrictions on their movements, in order to provide full protection to the settlers to perform their religious rituals.
