For the 37th consecutive day, Israeli warplanes persist in their genocidal assault on various regions of the Gaza Strip, leading to an enormous toll of Palestinian deaths and injuries.
The Government Media Office in Gaza reports that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7th, the death count has escalated to 11,100, including over 8,000 children and women, in addition to more than 28,000 Palestinians injured. A substantial number remain buried under the ruins of houses destroyed in the Israeli attacks.
In a statement issued Saturday evening, the office indicated that due to the deliberate targeting of hospitals and the obstruction in admitting the dead and injured, the Ministry of Health has been unable to accurately tally the casualties in recent hours.
The report further emphasized, “But it is crucial to remember that the occupation has executed over 1,130 massacres, leading to more than 11,100 deaths, among them over 8,000 children and women, and the number of injured exceeds 28,000.”
As per the Gaza Health Ministry’s count on Friday, the fatalities stood at 11,078, including 4,506 children, 3,027 women, and 678 elderly, besides 27,490 with various injuries.
On Saturday, the Health Ministry declared all hospitals in North Gaza non-functional, except for Al-Mamadani Hospital, which is operating under severe constraints.
The Ministry has appealed to the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross to urgently enforce international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention. This includes protecting the healthcare system, providing immediate medical and fuel needs, and facilitating its crucial role in saving thousands of patients and the injured.
It has also implored all relevant entities to promptly establish a secure humanitarian corridor for the import of medical supplies, fuel, medical personnel, and the evacuation of the wounded.
The Israeli onslaught in the Gaza Strip flagrantly violates international humanitarian law and human rights, gravely endangering civilian lives and property, and inflicting severe suffering. This situation demands immediate and decisive action from the international community to cease the aggression and safeguard the civilians in the sector.
This genocide mandates international institutions to force Israeli occupation forces to comply with international laws and human rights treaties, ensuring the protection of civilian rights and lives, prohibiting their targeting, maintaining their safety, and holding accountable those leaders responsible for war crimes in the Gaza Strip and beyond.
