Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) said that on the evening of May 13, a truce in the Gaza Strip entered into force, leaving citizens to mourn the loss of their loved ones, count their damages and take a new shelter for those whose houses have been targeted by the Israeli occupation’s deadliest war machine.
The death toll of the five-days Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip was 33 people, including 6 children and 3 women, and 147 were variously injured. 15 buildings with 51 houses were completely destroyed, and 940 houses were affected, of which 49 houses were completely damaged.
The human and material losses of this short aggression is a clear proof that the Israeli occupation uses lethal and internationally prohibited weapons deliberately against civilians, in complete disregard to the rules of war.
It should be noted that most of the weapons used by the occupation against civilians are manufactured in Western countries, including the USA, Canada, UK, and European countries, led by Germany, which is the second-largest exporter of weapons to Israel after the US and Italy. These countries continued to export weapons to the occupation despite the strong international condemnations of exporting weapons to the occupation.
Such immoral policies that violate the rules of international humanitarian law cannot be tolerated anymore, especially with the overwhelming evidence that confirms the occupation’s continuous use of these weapons to kill the Palestinians without any deterrence.
Countries that provide the occupation with these weapons are partners in the crimes committed by the occupation against the Palestinians, and it is time to pursue them and hold them accountable, since the occupation would not have been able to kill and destroy the lives of the Palestinians without their weapons and support.
AOHR UK denounces the stances of the Western countries on the aggression on the Gaza Strip, as they supply the occupation with deadly weapons used against civilians on one hand, while declaring their support to the occupation and it’s right to defend itself on the other hand!
AOHR UK called on the United Nations General Assembly to adopt a resolution under the United for Peace resolution obliging all countries to prevent the supply of lethal weapons to the Israeli occupation in order to preserve civilian lives and maintain international peace and security.
